Blades of Steel, in Japan known as Konamic Ice Hockey, is an ice hockey video game, developed by Konami and first released as an arcade game in 1987.[1] The game was released for the Game Boy in North America in August 1991, in Europe in 1991 and in Japan on 27 November 1992.

The game consists of eight teams: the Toronto Eagles, the Vancouver Bombers, the Montréal Fighters, the Edmonton Bears, the New York Devils, the Chicago Angels, the Los Angeles Hawks and the Minnesota Wilds. The nicknames appear in the Japanese instruction booklets.[2][1]
